I did consider that but I'm thinking shoe major improvements have been about too long. Maybe though.

It’s a strong performance for sure.

Worth noting that at longer distances, women can sometimes outperform men.

There would have to be some reduction of the gap as you moved up distances for there to be any chance of outperforming at any distance, it can't just suddenly happen by magic later.

I'm not convinced. Some yes. But for world records, I think the gaps continue to widen or at least stay in the ranges posted above.

50k is 11%, 100m 14% and 6-day 13%.

Well if it's a fuel efficiency reason for distance convergence then that effect would be expected to show up at other distances but not as pronounced.

TBH though I think @paulcook is right about the distance thing.
