She's gone out in suicidal pace before and faltered.

But this time she delivered.

And her male pacer paced her from start to finish.

That was a correction to my post on the other page and agree it's amazing.

By WA points it is the best women's running record beating Sydney McLaughlin's hurdles record if I've looked correctly.

Yeah I realised that was a correction after I posted

The pacer did an amazing job especially as 2:10 is still no slouch- he’d have been 10th in the men’s race. Hope he is appreciated!

She actually set a 10km PB in the first 10km of 30:14 assuming she hasn't run a faster split elsewhere which I doubt.

Pacers did a great job, she had two the majority of the way and that would have helped loads. She essentially did a strong controlled positive split which isn't something you normally see (almost the reverse race Korir).

Some people are just built that way. I know I am. When I ran my recent marathon best of 2:58 I was running not far off my recent 10k best, but four times more. Once I'd got to the point where that pace was my threshold I could keep it going. Maybe that's the same for all marathon super performers?

With respect, I don't think sub optimally trained amateurs can really compare to elites.
