2%, 4 miles left and a picture of a turtle on the screen on arrival home tonight. Allowed myself cabin heat once I knew the trip was in the bag without having to stop ![]() |

How does yours handle in snow? I miss a manual gear box!

Number 1 important thing for snow is... winter tyres (or at least all season). Auto or manual, 4x4 or 2WD all rubbish with summer tyres! In my experience and understanding! My 2WD EV fine in snow. ![]() |

The mg4 has a snow mode. Reduced traction control, a softer throttle and less regenerative braking (to avoid unexpected wheel locking). I'm not on winter tyres, and am not a risk taker. But despite the rwd it coped fine on Sunday and this morning in some of the thickest snow we've had for a few years on my road. But I didn't even think about trying any snowy roads with significant incline. |

I'm all Grrrr after catching 2 mins of Radio 5 Live this morning. Some muppet advocating a new type of road tax per mile with no disincentive for petrol and diesel. Eejit. But my main problem was the interviewer. He said Scotland to England in an EV cost him £150 and Co presenter said that's more than petrol/diesel surely? This is theoretically true eg 600 miles (that's mid Scotland to South England, so extreme.) And only 3 miles / kWh (which would be poor efficiency). And 75p per kWh (which would be high price motorway charging all the way). But it's not apples with apples. Grrr. |

Impressed with the "snow" driving mode this morning. Roads were worse today than the previous two days, but despite the rwd and other cars repeatedly losing traction I don't think I slid once. I was sceptical when I got the car that that mode would work, but on not great tyres and pretty poor conditions I was really happy with the control it gave me. And with the EV non-geared throttle too, that felt much more stable to drive than having to get good choices made on a traditional manual car.

Is there a more adult reason for it that I don't understand? |

Turtle mode I believe is a relatively common euphemism for a restricted power mode in an EV. I think I heard it referenced in relation to my Peugeot too.

Turtle mode be a form of "limp" mode. i.e. reduced ability/slow progress.
