I've protested that scenario before and had the fine cancelled. Proved there was no way I could be trying to pay to park a car I no longer owned so they can't think the money was for that therefore it must apply to the car you own. Fight harder. (Agree these sorts of things are f*ckjng annoying though.) I look forward to paying a government tax that my car attracts. No probs. ![]() |

Back online with new charger, all straightforward. For anyone with an Ohme device and Intelligent Octopus Go, am I right in assuming that the schedule shown below is what it sets with the "cheap rates" when Intelligent is linked to the Ohme account? I think I've done everything correctly (linked via the Octopus app and then the Ohme app etc) but just wanted to double check what I'm seeing. It was all very simple when I just used the 00:30 to 05:30 settings! |

That's right - any half hour within which it's charging will be at cheap rate. Note that the schedule can change, so it's worth keeping an eye on if you're making particular use of the cheap half hours

Is that today? If so, I know it's only 1% but it's slightly bizarre that they've given you a slot from 18:00 to 18:30 in the middle of a saver session!

Yep that's for today. Must admit I've lost the enthusiasm for the saver sessions!! An enforced sitting in the dark and later than usual mealtimes is a compromise I got bored with!! The %ages are not intuitive; I'm guessing they mean the %age of the battery that would be charged in that window if the battery could accept that much charge? |

It's %age of the battery capacity. My approach is I get home the dash says battery is at 40% so I set to add 60%. I've joined the saver session although at 12p/kWh it's hardly worth it. Never turn the lights out - at 4W per light the loss of saving for that over an hour is negligible (about .026p per light bulb if I've got my maths right) |

I tried to persuade my wife of that but she insisted we maxed out on the savings!! The ohme stuff is a different way of looking at things. I never want to have to set the charge at night, I just want it to charge cheaply. So the idea that I have to input into the app how much charge I need feels like a faff. I'm sure I'll settle into just having a default required for normal weekday stuff, so won't end up having to do things daily, but it has messed with my brain a little too get my head around the way it works compared to what I'm used to! |
