Bazoaxe
carers have called twice this week:

1) no washing tablets. This is plausible as there is a lot of washing that gets done, at least one load a day probably more. I cant recall when we last bought tablets but I do recall there being loads when I last looked. Mrs axe is taking an emergency supply round

2) no medication. This is bullshot, it was there on Sunday and BiL in one the things he does had dropped it off and we know there is enough until a monday. If the medication is gone, thats on the carers. I assume they found it where it always is. On the kitchen table

Operation went well - so back to waiting to see how she comes out of the coma and what damage has been done - it's exhausting not knowing

I thought I'd start a thread, as lots of us have elderly folks that we worry about/care for.

Also: After someone dies, if their home insurance was only in their name, sadly the cover becomes void. But if the policy was in joint names, it will still cover the surviving policyholder (though the names on the policy will need to be updated).

Pension Credit. The rules are a bit complex but if your elderly relative has some sort of disability (in this case dementia/Alzheimer's) and go into a home, they may be able to claim pension credit. So if carers allowance stops, it seems pension credit can start. It can also be backdated.
