I got train last year and found it hassle free option and little walk to station was good recovery. No official pacers, would maybe suggest speaking to few folk early pre race and during first few miles and try get a group going together.

Have bought a disposable poncho for if it's truly miserable at the start. Went for a run yesterday and my Garmin reception was all over the place pace-wise. Walked along the Royal Mile today and almost came a cropper falling off the pavement - don't want to get invalided out this close to the race!
