Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

I'm signed up for the marathon. Hoping for my first sub-3:30 if conditions are right on the day. Looks like a good course - anyone run it before?

Hey FC, I'm running the marathon as well. Its my home course and its a downhill start and pretty flat for the remainder. It has some rolling roads so not Berlin style flat but if the conditions are good its a pb course for sure. Good luck :)

Hi Tizer - nice PB - you'll definitely be finishing well ahead of me! I took a look at the course profile and it looks fantastic compared to Milton Keynes which I ran as a 'warm-up' yesterday - about 500ft less climb. Just need to hope for an overcast day - what's the weather been like in previous years?

Changeable 😀. If it's windy then normally you have 20 miles with the wind behind then last 10k into wind. It's also been really hot a couple of times so just take what you get really, same as any marathon in the UK

I'm running the 5k, 10k and HM as well so I'll be delighted with sub 3.30 as well 😀

Cripes! Good luck running all of that lot!

Looks like that final 10k could be challenging then, although wind assisted for 20 miles sounds pretty good :)

Marathon for me. Last 10k into the wind sounds a bit grim. I remember 2k of Edinburgh parkrun being bad enough.

It's not always like that. Sometimes you have the wind behind and the first 20
Are into the wind ;-)

Funky Chicken, did you know that the Edinburgh Marathon once had runners impeded by (funky) chickens on the course?

Any bets on what this year's snafu will be? pandas move the turnaround point ;-) ?
