Funky Chicken
My number arrived today with some pins and a leaflet inviting me to purchase some merchandise. Apparently I'm in the white start, although I have no idea how many start colours there are and where white fits into that lot.
I think something was mentioned on last year's thread about buses back to the start, and the local bus service being a quicker and cheaper option? Is anyone familiar with this? My current plan is to stumble around looking for the local bus once I'm done. Not yet sure how much cash I'll need and whether exact change will be required, as I'd rather run with a note than coins!

Oops, just managed to find the bit on the website where it mentions baggage will be transported to the finish, so running with cash is not necessary.

Buses are £1.50 and exact change is needed. There's a good app called edinbus, you can download to your phone and it will tell you what services are near and when they are due

I forgot about the fox, I remember in the old days when it went round arthurs seat and we all pooled along the cycle paths (how narrow?), I remember running past where i now live and thinking 'who would live there'! I remember chickens running in front of me at gosford and being in no mood for it. I take change in my pocket and nick into a shop if I am desperate for water LOL

The correct thing to do FC is to go to Musselburgh High St and trade some notes in for fish and chips and/or ice-cream from Luca's and/or a pint in Stagg's, which will give you change for the bus.

Ru ?
What does the e-mail say...no traffic including buses in Musselburgh ? Surely the buses must go somewhere close even if roads closed

Please take time to consider how you, and your spectators, are going to travel to the Start and Finish areas, as well as your return journey.
PLEASE NOTE THAT VEHICLE ACCESS TO MUSSELBURGH IS FOR RESIDENTS ONLY. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO TAKE YOUR VEHCILE TO THE FINISH AREA. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO PARK YOUR CAR IN MUSSELBURGH OR THE SURROUNDING AREA. The continuing success of the event depends upon the support of the local community. Sadly last year, despite parking restrictions being in place, we experienced massive problems with our runners and spectators parking illegally: blocking bus routes and resident's driveways. Cars were even abandoned on pavements, making it impossible for wheelchair users, parents with prams, and pedestrians to use the pavement.
Please DO NOT drive to Musselburgh.
If you are parking anywhere over event weekend, please do so legally and with respect to those who live in these areas. Please note that parking in Musselburgh, and the surrounding area, is restricted and for residents only.
Police Scotland, City of Edinburgh Council, East Lothian Council and EMF organisers are taking this issue very seriously and the following measures will be in operation:
Marshals will be in place to enforce parking restrictions Residents will be issued passes to access the restricted areas Drivers of all vehicles parked illegally will be fined Vehicles parked illegally, causing obstruction or congestion will be towed away
