There's a whole page on the EMF site about IAAF Bronze Label. edinburgh-marathon.com Race Director Neil Kilgour, spouts some utter tosh, this is the best bit : "I believe we have the fastest route in Europe and maybe the world. This is proven year in year out in the times achieved." |

In my limited experience of marathon routes I would say it is not even the fastest in Scotland. Lochaber is/was (no longer to be run) a faster course. Would guess internationally Berlin, Dubai to start with two would think otherwise about Embra being fastest course. Thankfully I have never met nor likely to meet Mr Kilgour |

Chester was great, lovely and well organised, you even run into wales for a bit 😄 not as flat as promised to me though hit few hills later on. Ted, fuck off. Knob shaped messages, they did make me lol. I was also not a participant that year. I was the year the water got stolen by the chickens though, but they had plenty for us lot. |

When I say us lot, I mean anyone under 4 hrs was ok. After that you were struggling I believe. I blame the chickens

I marshalled one year, the race was well underway and my water station had no water at mile 17/18, also when we asked what to do in an emergency we were asked to use our phones which is fone if you if a signal but we didn't. the difference between that and the organisation at moonwalk was phenomenal.

Can't recommend Chester highly enough, they know how to put on a good marathon and definitely a PB course

I'm toying with doing Chester - with everyone who has entered on here maybe I better make a decision soon! I did Chester last year - definitely has a few undulations in it but it's my PB course too. Lovely route and absolutely fautlless organisation. Last year they even provided those plastic overshoes to go over your trainers pre race to stop them getting we on the race course grass! The only very minor criticism is that they only gave age group prizes to top n each age group which was a tad anoying when I was 2nd FV45 LOL
