fair point HT I mean not much marathon paced training, I've absolutely no idea what my marathon pace is at the mo. Which is unusual for me and makes me feel a little under prepared. I'm either going to go off too slow and be cursing myself for feeling fresh at 20, or go out like a bat out of hell and detonate at 20. Should be interesting, but it's all training for the real target race later in the year, so not as important as my previous marathons. How are you feeling about Edinburgh?

Similar not had prep races to help guide my pace and not much in way of MP runs so will try to just run it to feel and prob be guided by that and the hr monitor. Have a pretty good idea what bpm i operate at in marathons so should be reasonable guide. Not sure wether or not to just go out reasonably hard and see how it goes then use as a gauge for an Autumn crack. What's the later year A race?? Hope you have a great race, looks like few decent fetchies there this year.

Sounds sensible, I'm the same with the HR monitor, but I always find that I operate above what I think is MP effort on the day, so probably won't wear the HR strap. There is a few fast fetchies this year, should be good to see some PB's if the weather is good. A race is the Devil. I'm shit on the hills though, so I need to get into the Pentlands after Edinburgh is out the way.

Either hit the hills and or the gym. gym will help with hills too. Yeh never done Edinburgh so fingers crossed decent weather and a few great runs am sure. I have managed (just) to resist the ultra lure but sure it will get me at somepoint. Look foward to you ripping up the devil i am sure.
