jacs205 - I don't know how old the kids are that you work with but I took my medal into my College students who are one week away from qualifying as Childcare Practitioners and they all giggled hysterically as they noticed the shape!!!!! I told them they weren't fit to be childcarers!!!!! ;) Your first marathon is never your last - I promised a physio years ago that I would do the Dublin marathon to scratch the marathon itch and that would be that. That was five marathons ago. ;) Well done It was roasty toasty but great fun eh:)

they are secondary JaneyM and I do teach biology so I can't really complain about it and I suppose I ought to be proud that they used the correct word for it:) Just been glancing (only glancing so far!?) at the details for Loch Ness lol!!

Hi not posted before but been lurking, Edinburgh was my first Marathon and i too died at the 18 mile mark, was going well up to that. Was realy dissapointed that i had to run/walk the last 8 miles but still finished with 5:35:17 which i probably would have taken if offered at the start.

After reading a lot of the other posts and seeing the splits on my Garmin i dont feel quite as bad, I'm even tempted to try again next year, we'll have to see.

no way was it 19 degrees, sheesh kebabs, not as hot as the Desert Marathon of 09, but pretty darn hot still. so sorry for those who had to pull out, no race is worth killing yourself over, the sight of a lady delirious on a stretcher made me reassess and exercise caution.

I've uploaded a load of pics onto Facebook, and a few onto Fetch. Apologies for the blurredness of the group pics, those in attendance will recall the difficulty we had in finding a decent photographer ;-)
