If anything does go wrong paul - I bet none of us would have guessed what it would be in advance.
I am going to stick my neck out and say that this year there will be no problems

Controversial post, Bazoaxe
Renters, I'd buy you an once cream at the end if you'd just slow down by a few hours

Well pre-marathon day over the Forth has started with glorious sunshine. No sign of yesterday's fog and just a gentle breeze. Enjoy your chill-out day folks and best of luck for tomorrow!

For those mooching around Edinburgh enjoy it - you will see precious little of it tomorrow in the so-called Edinburgh Marathon.

But if it was actually in edinburgh it would be a much slower course with plenty hill action thrown in......and more expensive to close roads and lets not forget upsetting the residents

Bazoaxe you are so right - if it was truly an Edinburgh marathon could you imagine the hills. They would be relentless. I did it when it went out to grant on and that was bad enough as you had the big climb up from porty. Nope. Day out in east Lothian will be fine. Did you know east Lothian is the birth place of the saltire flag (or something like that) I see a sign on the back road to wallyford like that. What else is it famous for? Oh and isn't cockenzie closing at some point in the near future, could be the last time you have to pass it. Historical! (ok that is maybe stretching it). I am going to see the horses on the ride out this morning, a nice gentle walk from the car to the foot of the pentlands and then breaks. And then sitting all day! See you all tomorrow.
