I'm hoping nerves are normal cos I'm nervous as hell! Only my 2nd (and hopefully last). The nerves increase with distance for me - 5/10k very little, half+ there is much more doubt/fear involved. Training gives more confidence though and I've done much more this year than I did for London. Lots of mixed emotions at the moment but looking forward to it!

OK, bit more research done on getting to the start. The EMF shuttle buses assume that you park at the start (or at least want to get back there) so are geared around getting you back there once you've finished. I don't want to struggle driving to the start so figured park at the finish. Wallyford Park & Ride is good. Now find out the first train to waverley is 11.41 - that's no good. So found a few busses that will get me to the start in time. Anyone any ideas on how big Wallyford is and if they'll be a problem parking there around 8am? Thanks

If Wallyford is the station I'm thinking off, I went to it after the race a few years back and its basically a massive car park with a platform for trains, and a bus stop.

If train is not an option then you could get the service 44 bus right next to the park and ride. If you want a 5 minute walk down the hill to Levenhall roundabout you get the choice of the service 44 and 26. There shouldn't be an issue of parking in Wallyford or in the surrounding area.

weean - it's okay to be nervous before your first marathon - it is a BIG deal - you will feel amazing once you finish - on top of the world - if a little achy. I loved my first and although it was by far my slowest ever it was the best. I ran in Dublin and there was a lot of Guinness - not sure if that is what slowed me down but the craic was magic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have a blast - what is your start and colour - maybe I'll see you there. I am regent road and purple - theeeee slowest pen! whoop whoop
I am very excited now.

There seems to be lots of purple Regent Road Fetchies - lets get together for moral support. See you all there. I think McNewbie was going to suggest a Fetchie photo - I'm up for that
