Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Be interesting to see what the market response is to the recent news...

or will there be a delay to see who's up next?

Surely Sunak is the best option for them, second in the race and some economic credibility (if that factors into their thinking)

Sunak is as divisive as Truss I terms of Tory bigotry, that won't happen.

Truss just about staged a coup with her cabinet!, let alone the fact she was clueless, who knows really except the Tories are now in unchartered territory as they will elect a leader that will have to follow a set of policies the membership didn't vote for, let alone the rest of the country.....

I hate the fact, but it will be Boris who returns. Boris is the logical choice for the Tories, but I cant stand the man as a politician although he was fine on Have I Got News for You.

Who ever gets the PM job will have to unite the party and all three frontrunners have issues on that front....but Boris was elected by the people and has the best chance. Therefore he has a best chance of getting individual MP's reelected in 2024....which is their primary goal.

Talking about Johnson what is he doing on holiday in the Bahamas he is a sitting MP, should he not be representing his constituents as the UK goes through a rough time?

So BoE Interest Rates decision published on Thursday, BBC are saying it could up 0.75% to 3%, i think that's quite the jump and they might go for 0.5% again...

Anyone’s guess. The Fed added 75 bp today, but I thought the BoE would follow last time and they didn’t.

They're, news talking heads that is, saying the interest rate is going yo max out at 5% now, a few weeks back it was touted to be higher. The downside is there will be a reccession, some two years or so, unemployment to double.

The US has raised it's interest rate too. Very old fashioned view but the value of the pound reflects the state of the country's economy, and it isnvery good.
