Crikey, lots of posts today! Great choice for yesterday winner :-)

I used to scoff at sports but the last couple of years I have become a big fan :-)

I am short of newts today so will mention the new shoots on a peony, south facing one is well ahead of north facing which has yet to show any signs.

Still no hogs but we do enjoy watching a couple of little mice, not so much the neighbouring cats!

I had a sneaking suspicion you weren't a sports scoffer MrsJ. Call it intuition.

There is a bloke who frequents the Flanci FB page and appears to share a running kit collection, including skorts, with his wife. I'm torn between "they're just clothes from a small business, clothes are for anyone and small businesses deserve support, good man" and "you posting loads of photos of you dressed in a skort is taking attention away from WOMEN and I object to men taking attention away from women". But it's none of my business really.

As for the pockets, on training runs I don't put anything in them that I couldn't carry in my bra, I just like knowing that they're there ;) I used the side pocket on my skort to carry my 'phone with the tracker app when I did the Virtual VMLM, and had some gels in the back pocket in case I got hungry between mobile feed stations.

'Outdoor sports facilities ...(and) formal organised outdoor athletics' to reopen officially from March 29th that's my news if not Newt of the day.

I cannot wait to get back to an athletics track. Am so sick of tarmac and grass (mini moan - sorry!)

Know that the gov rules said more or less that on Monday but this is from England Athletics so is more relevant for anyone in a club or who uses a track - or indeed who races!

You are very intuitive Sharkie ;-) I can’t proclaim to scoff at sports while sat here watching athletics :-)

I forgot a newt actually, instead of porridge for breakfast I had muesli with vegan coconut yogurt, it made me feel sick 🤮

I'm loving this thread. It really brightens my day :)
I'm about to go and look at the Flanci website ;)

My newt is going into a different supermarket after my dentist appointment today (I'm SO bored with our nearest Tesco). It was virtually empty (at about 4 pm) which was such a delight and I wished I was doing my weekly shop instead of picking up a couple of bits.

starblackheartstar The sixth running of Do a New Thing for Spring starblackheartstar

Lent has a special and specific meaning to Christians but has become an secular season of denial and hair shirting that serves no positve purpose. No chocolate, no booze, no -er - other stuff.

Why not treat the build up to Easter - as a chance to celebrate and embrace NEW THINGS - that's what spring is about after all.

The first few pages of the thread give more ideas.
