A lunchtime of newts. A couple of days ago, a former pupil asked on our village FB page for volunteers to have their photo taken outside their house as part of her uni assignment; as I know her, I offered. I wasn't sure what time she would be arriving, just knew it was Saturday afternoon.
I went for my run at noon.

#1 - fake parkrun SB. Even faster than the other day. My fastest 5k since May 2017
#2 - fake parkrun and I ran it all for the first time this year
Photographer was waiting when I got home so I asked if she would come back in a bit when I'd had a shower
#3 - because I needed to cool down quickly, I had a COLD shower for the first time (not ever, but the first time in winter!)
#4 - I've been a photography student's model
And an unrelated one
#5 - I've logged all my yarn stash on Ravelry so I know what I've got and can plan my knitting and crocheting projects

That'll do for today :)

Elaine was my brother in law's preference for my first daughter's name. It was none of his business so I didn't tell him I'd considered it too. I went to school with lots of Elaines. The one who sticks in my mind was a nice gentle quiet girl whose large family must have been "working poor" (two parents and six children in a three bedroomed council flat) and whose USP was perfect attendance at school every year.

Today I managed to jeff all the way to the park and back. My mum joined me which made it even better. Felt exhausted all afternoon but chuffed that I did it.

Thanks Sharkie. It's nice when you don't know what the day is going to bring and then all that happens, isn't it :)

Ooh another newt from me, had a ride out on my motorbike, it’s only a 125 so I have to stick to the quiet country roads, rode into the outskirts of the next town which involves a section of dual carriageway which is the old road and got to a roundabout to come back, Mr Jelly was following me on his bike but when we turned to come back he pulled up into a lay-by and said since I could do 55-60 mph did I want to ride back on the proper dual carriageway so we did! Wasn’t at all scary!

About This Thread

starblackheartstar The sixth running of Do a New Thing for Spring starblackheartstar

Lent has a special and specific meaning to Christians but has become an secular season of denial and hair shirting that serves no positve purpose. No chocolate, no booze, no -er - other stuff.

Why not treat the build up to Easter - as a chance to celebrate and embrace NEW THINGS - that's what spring is about after all.

The first few pages of the thread give more ideas.
