Some lovely photos on here today.

My newt for the day was pushing an almost 3 year old and 4 year old around the garden in a wheelbarrow. They loved it especially when I tried tipping them out 😁

Cool newt indeed LindsD

Few pages back.... I have my first 100k ultra on 26th June all being well it can go ahead and I also hedged my bets and booked Loch Ness which is October.

I’ve been working on my training plan since January I’m not looking to race it nearly to finish with a smile.

Loch Ness I did in 2019 on the back of a 50k ultra and 3 marathons I was shot so this one will be a hope to beat my time.

There is also a few deferred from last year although what they are now I’ve no clue.

It’s kept me focused and having a plan has helped so much over winter.

What a fabulous day it’s been!
So many great newts too- and photos! Love the view from the end of your street, Hp :)
I’m excited about the return of parkrun! Have missed it a lot - not the 5K run every Saturday so much as the community.

I have 3 newts today :-O
1. I’ve worn cropped trousers for the first time this year
2. Have been out in the Mini with the roof down for the first time this year
3. Went for a walk along a stretch of the canal in Warwick that I’ve never walked before.

I've just checked out your June ultra, geordiegirl it looks stunningly lovely. Northumberland is beautiful, we had holidays up there when I was a kid. We had an 'auntie' (post war teacher training friend of my mum's) who owned a cottage in Sparty Lea, a little village near(ish) to Hexham.

Excellent jingling, folks!

Run in newt rainers (yes deliberate Sharkie, it tickled me so I'm glad it did you too) successfully completed. They were very comfy, and I got around the village before sunset despite not finishing work until 5:30, which makes it a double newt.

That is a beautifully mediterranean-looking photo, LN. That yellow against the blue sky is gorgeous.

MM, what a super way to play with youngsters. I used to love wheelbarrow rides as a child :)
Skorts ahoy! I'm still waiting for mine, but great that it is short/skort weather so early in the year and that the days are getting longer so we can run later in daylight.

I ran my fastest mile of the year 11:12 - not fast by most people's standards, but I'm still revelling in pain-free running after 6 years of calf pain getting in the way of me making any progress and I could have gone faster, but was just going with the flow as I wanted to run 2 miles without walking. The 2nd mile was sub 11:45 - just - and it made me feel so good. A real boost. I'm loving running at the moment.

Lent has a special and specific meaning to Christians but has become an secular season of denial and hair shirting that serves no positve purpose. No chocolate, no booze, no -er - other stuff.

Why not treat the build up to Easter - as a chance to celebrate and embrace NEW THINGS - that's what spring is about after all.

The first few pages of the thread give more ideas.
