December 1st - declutter 1 item December 2nd - declutter 2 items December 3rd - declutter 3 items and so on, and so on until... December 31st - declutter 31 items If you succeed you have removed 501 items of clutter from your life. What constitutes decluttering? Well, that's up to you. It could be that you give the item away (to charity or to a friend), maybe you sell it on ebay, maybe you recycle it or even have to bin it. Also I think it should count if something's been sat in your living room or kitchen for months for example, and you find it a proper home even if that means you're actually keeping it. That maybe only applies to clutterbug messy folks like myself though! So who's in? |

Day 1 - I took an old dressing gown to the textile recycling bin down the road. The first few days of this are going to be sooooo easy. I have a LOT of clutter. |

I would love to say yes but I know that I won't keep it going. However even if I declutter *some* things it will be more than most months. I have this evening (before I saw this thread) put some glass jars out for recycling that up until now I had been thinking might come in useful for something (they wouldn't and I know that should I ever need a glass jar I still have one or two, but I don't need 'loads') - so that will be my thing for today!

I've tried and failed before, but I'm off work between Christmas and New Year when the numbers get really big. Alternatively you could start with 31 items and count down to 1. I think that would be easier in any other 31 day long month.

Did this before, think I would be hard pushed to repeat it. Plus busy time of year work wise. But good luck to all who do I'm always on a decluttering mission |

I'll do my best. I suspect that there will be a net *in* rather than *out* during December, but if I can keep even, that would be a win. I'm away until tomorrow tho, so I'll have to do 3 items when I get home.

fetcheveryone.com/viewtopic.php?id=58166 for after December, I'm going to think about whether I can commit to December decluttering.

I’m going to give it a try! I don’t know if I’ll be able to stick to it. I need to declutter faster than that so may do some of the bigger numbers earlier on (or chunk things e.g. 3 bags of...). Threw out a piece of rubbish yesterday that has been in the cupboard... oh for about a year! |
