He did OK but by the end of the season declared himself pleased to be the 2nd best left arm spinner in the league. On closer inspection it turned out there were only 2 left arm spinners in the league

Basically he bowled it pretty quick and span it in every ball, most batsmen coould not get to him, he didn't get that many wickets, but gave away very little runs. Being a hooker he moved V-e-r-y slowly and I once saw him get run out for a quick single. He marched down the pitch and was about to wallop the other batsman ( I could see it in his eyes), when A very quick and brave umpire intervened.
