Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

All the talk of a 4-1 win was bound to mean the Aussies would dig in. I expect they will score really big this innings.

Plus the Oval is a fairly decent pitch to bat on in the main. Can see them racking up 380+ and putting our guys under pressure again. Lyth out early doors wafting outside off-stump.

This could end up being a very good game, Lyon bowling at the end.....

Happy for this game that Clarke has gone, but he's been a top quality batsmen for them over the years and i would have liked him to finish with a 50+ average

Nice day out, took me back about 30 years, good, hard, Test cricket! We ended up sitting adjacent to Ebony Rainford-Brent and Mel Jones, who were both partaking of some light refreshment.
It all depends on the new ball now...

Is it wrong that I dont really care if this test is a DRAW as long as we dont get thumped

That would suit me fine, too. Make it clear that the bowling attack in this XI doesn't look as effective when the pitch is true, or when it takes spin, without humiliating the batting.

3-2 is a fair series result IMO. We have been better, partly because they have been stupid and stubborn and arrogant and ignored cricket's most important stroke when the ball is moving: the leave. But we're not as good as we have been talked up to.

Lots for us to do to get better, and in a way having to scrap for a draw may do us some good long term.

Hope Lyth enjoys his last test match...;-)
