TR - likewise. Always supported Tigers, Foxes and Leics CC, but only ever regularly watched the Tigers, and have a far greater commitment to them. I've seen England play more times than I've seen the county team.

Interesting to read about allegiances, I've seen Hampshire play far more times than England and yet feel a stronger attachment to the national side. Complete reverse with football; only really interested in QPR (it's a family thing, don't judge me :-) ) no attachment to the England side at all.

Number one loyalty in rugby is to Wasps; been to far more of their games than internationals.

I wonder if we're following the money, or the money is following us? Much more money in international cricket; enough money to run a small country in the football Premiership; more ambiguous in Union, where the top players are aiming to excel both for club and country.

Cricket - national team only. Lived in too many places to follow one County, never developed an allegiance. Seen that national side a few times, never seen a county game. Used to be quite dedicated, remember me and mate travelling up to Edgbaston for the 1985 Ashes test (Gower, Ellison match) on a budget - we lived in his Vauxhall Viva for 5 days and nearly got nicked for vagrancy..., and got chased round the Bull Ring by a gang of skinheads.....great days...;-)

Rugby - club and national side. Probably care about both equally, seen both my club (Sarries) and Country (Eng), club more times due to availability of tickets. But going to 2 Eng RWC games (Wales, Qtr if we top the group).

Football - have grown massively detached from both Club (West Ham) and Country over the last few years. Really cannot relate to either these days, once cared massively about both, season ticket at West ham, England most home games and a few away. It's not just the players, it seems to be a perpetual moan fest from fellow fans that makes you want to turn round and say 'if it makes you that unhappy, why are you here?'. The game is now shit, a closed shop due to money that means 'the dream' for clubs outside the monied few no longer exists. Good thing is that England's bi annual humiliation at Tournaments now only causes mild amusement.

Cricket - England and Essex, probably in that order. But I can watch endless amounts on TV - from T20 IPL to tests!
Footy - Southampton, although my interest in the sport overall has waned a little over the years. I'll watch Saints if they're on TV, I might watch England and I'll watch a big CL game, but I don't feel the need to watch everything.

Cycling might be my favourite sport to watch now. As much for the amazing scenery as anything.

I can basically watch anything that doesn't involve animals or judges marks. Even some quite obscure stuff.

Agreed, Teabers, I like most sport, but can't really be doing with most of the 'judged' stuff or horse-poncing.

Gave up on football a long time ago (though as a Birmingham City fan, there are jokes lurking)... too much money and too many imports of dubious quality to be interesting. See also the new-fangled non-contact version.

If I'm honest, I preferred rugby when it was legal to hit an opponent who was offside, or ruck out someone lying on the wrong side, but it's still fun. I grew up following Moseley when they were one of the top sides (lived within a few miles of the ground and used to walk there and back as a kid) and now support Worcester as they're local. I've always been a fan of the national side, but only seen them a handful of times as tickets and getting to Twickers are both irritating.

As for cricket, born in Warwickshire, live in Worcestershire, have lived within a stone's throw of both grounds, so I do watch live from time to time. I'm an ethnic Bear and adopted Pear. I'll watch any cricket on the tellybox, but probably prefer Tests to ODIs or T20; the latter two have too many disposable games (but the odd cracker, like Tuesday!)

Morning everyone :-) don't think we're in for such a cracking game today, but it's muggy down this way, so the ball could swing all over the place.

Is it time for abroad and Anderson to be recalled to open the attack and destroy Finns confidence again?

In terms of club v country, I've never watched a live game of cricket, just stuff on TV. I've always followed Yorkshire and England. My other sport is Rugby League, supporting permanent underdogs Batley since I was 9. Although nowadays I stick to Super League on the tellybox. The national team has always frustrated me with a lack of consistency, which always puts us 2 steps behind the convicts.

Yay! Fellow Birmingham and Bears fan here. (although Worcs and the Villa are the enemy :-) and Wolves are just as bad). Followed Bears since prior to the amazing Dermot Reeve final where they smashed Surrey into oblivion chasing 320 odd.
