Win toss insert the Kiwis. They'll be terrified we'll hit another 400 so will gamble recklessly early doors on a seaming, swinging day. Chuck Finn the new cherry and let him snaffle a 4 for, skittle them for 180 then nudge and nurdle our way to the win. Wink at them post match and say 'Suckers!'. Job done.

What about the storms coming up from France, or are they gonna miss London?

Lancashire & England for me in cricket, watched a lot of Lancashire games as a kid, been to see Cambridge University take on a few county teams at Fenners in recent years. Widnes & England in rugby league, been lucky enough to watch club & international games in lots of places. This season, I've only been to a handful of games, including such glamorous fixtures as Coventry v Oxford and London Skolars v York. RL switching to summer has largely put a stop to my cricket spectating. Football I would turn on the telly for an England match and I look out for results from various teams from places I've lived, but the last live game I went to was at the Nou Camp, after the barcelona marathon. |

I keep meaning to pop down to Fenners as I'm now just outside Cambridge.

Fenners is well worth a visit. You never know who's going to pop up honing their game in the early part of the season (Alastair Cook last season, for one).

Or the students beating Surrey, who were captained by Kevin Pietersen, by 10 wickets a few years back (2011 I think).

That was one of the matches where Zafar Ansari shone, wasn't it? Good player. With a bit of luck he'll get to play in an ODI that doesn't get rained off sometime.

I'm not a Yorkie, but an interesting article on what they're doing right at the moment. espncricinfo.com |

Yes, Zafar Ansari took quite a few wickets for Cambridge in that match, including Pietersen's I think. I guess the Surrey batsmen have faced him rather a lot in the nets since then.
