D Cork.

37 Tests.

131 wickets at 29.05 inc 5 5fors

864 runs at 18.00, HS 59 (3 50s total).

I might just about put him into the Bowlers who can bat a bit category. Definitely *not* an allrounder (usually defined as having a bowling average ~ batting average, if not the former lower than the latter).

For reference, Mark Wood has 119 wickets at 30ish and has scored 800ish runs at 15 and a bit with a HS of 52.

I'd put those two roughly in the same category...

As a contrast, Chris Woakes' 166 wickets have come at 28.10 and his 1921 runs at an average of 27.84 with a hundred and 7 50s.

Jack Russell would probably have more caps and Alec Stewart a lot more runs if it had happened after Russell retired rather than before.

Rubbish wicket keeping ‘all rounders’? Oh you’ve come to the right county.

We had Mark Pettini.

Bet @Treborstreet never helped *him* get yoghurt stains off the front of his trousers.

Do those averages make Stokes a Batsman/captain all rounder who can bowl a bit when not knacked?

Lots of empty seats today?

Being cheapest having just looked just now is £95 not surprised. Can't squeeze in as a u16 these days which is only £15 anywhere where as other areas are £110 or more for adults with just one £95 bit

I could never see Pettini without inserting the name into Elton John’s (Bernie Taupin?) lyrics “hold me close Pettini dancer”.

I’m surprised how quiet Lord’s is today. I retract earlier statements about Old Trafford being really quiet on the 4th day. Makes you wonder if the ECB could cut prices for 4th day tickets against WI, Bangladesh etc.

Could have had a crowd full of kids paying a fiver rather than banks of empty seats
