Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

It's a cunning plot by the team to make the ICC and ECB rethink the structure of threat World Cup. It's very noble of them, when you think about it.

Or maybe not. Just when you thought even England can't fuck it up, they try their best to prove you wrong :-(

Why when you have one in form batsmen who's been playing well, why move him from his natural position to no. 6?? You have to worry how (if) the team management think about the game.

I'll say it. We were still poor. Moeen apart. From the base we had, Australia, India, South Africa, NZ would have all scored at least 350 and probably nearer 400.

I watched the first 14 overs or so and Bell could barely get it off the square. Even four balls were being poked for ones and twos.

And it's still comfortably one of the best England performances. Looks as though Morgan did ok - fewer runs, but many fewer balls. Other than that, after Bell and Ali were out, it was looking like an old-school middle order collapse.

Wouldn't have got past 300 if Scotland hadn't been so generous with the wides, either.

Agreed Teabers, watched the early overs and a few big hits from Moeen aside there was no urgency. Boycs had it right: bowling was innocuous and good batsmen playing well would be putting pressure on, not nudging and nurdling away. Just squeaked over the 300 - a par score against a decent attack and 60-70 below par against Scotland.

That spinner of theirs was causing hilarity, most people couldn;t remember a bowler who was so slow yet we seemed to treat him like he was Warne making it hiss and spit out of a foothole. Tragic.

Sooner this farce is over the better, tbh - hopefully with only minimal further humiliations.
