Still it's not proper cricket!
England a much better test side than our limited over games would predict.
Therefore we should concentrate on our strengths and not pay too much attention to 20/20 or 50 over games.
Test cricket is the ultimate form of the best game in the World😀

I thought England were 30-50 runs short in the end, it shows there are not quite at the races....

Can you imagine the shot in the arm for cricket f England actually did well in the ODI world cup? It has to be taken seriously.....T20 and ODIs cannot be ignored.

It wouldn't surprise me if we did quite well now; semi-finals? Teams often perform well when they improve through the tournament and we're due one good performance by the law of averages.

Wasn;t '92 the year Pakistan were as crap as we were in the early part of the tourno and I think they slithered through the group stage by sheer luck (run rate? lucky point from an abandoned game?) then ran through everyone once the business end began.

I'm sure that was also the Tourno we contested the final because South Africa needed 22 off 13 balls - very gettable, but there was a tiny rain break. In those days there was no Duckworth Lewis, so the other team's lowest scoring overs were deducted from the total to even the number of overs up when overs were lost. 2 overs were lost, naturally being England (;-)) we had a good stock of maiden overs to throw into the cause, so the SA target become 22 runs off 1 ball.

I reckon we've had bad karma in ODI's ever since that day....

Ireland vs UAE. F me. What a game - riveting even on Cricinfo text updates...

We need the associates in the WC. More exciting than England!

57.5 Degrees of Pain
I watched that SA semi final in a bar full of South Africans in Malawi. They were not pleased and we slipped away quietly. Don't remember England having much chance in the final but my memory is vague.

Come on Scotland, it's about time for a world cup win!
