Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Unlikely TRO. I have no emotional link with Northern Superwhatevers.

There are Lancastrians playing for them apparently.

I just couldn't care less about the results in the Hundred.

I've been trying to keep up to speed on the One Day Cup with the real teams playing in it.

And I've always said Buttler is a decent One-Day batsman. It's his red-ball game I don't think is good enough for test cricket.

Hammed is an opener, so play him as such. He's not used to sitting in the pavilion with his pads on not knowing when he's going to be asked to bat. For someone coming back into the team after several years that's a significant additional stresser

Fair point Thornton, although our no. 3 is usually out in the middle before 3 overs are done, so it’s not a stresser for long……

Yeah and we try and protect Root from the new ball pretty unsuccessfully.

Can we let Root bat at both ends?

Mini Nico has been slowly drawn into watching The Hundred. She is after all, the target audience. We followed our local team's efforts on the BBC text while in the pub last night* but she is a long, long way off understanding #ProperCricket. Apparently, Root is rubbish because he didn't score off four consequetive balls.

* after the Lions match the other week, we are getting quite into huddling over a phone waiting for it to refresh, reminds me of "watching" football on Teletext

The Hundred is the death of "proper" cricket.
