Baz - Bairstow does average more.
But, not sure recently his battering has been as good. I suspect the ODI opening has caused it - he's given license to go out and hit everything. And then he tries a middle ground in test cricket and it doesn't work.

I think, unless Sibley gets a really good score second knock, we won't see him playing for England again, that was poor. Hameed, that can happen, not very good though.

Wasn’t it Boycs who said, whenever you look at a score, add two wickets.
In England’s case I add 4 - Boycs’ 2, plus the 2 we always lose just before or after the next interval (lunch, tea).
So, 245 behind with 3 wickets left…..
To be fair, another day 2 fight back - if we actually managed some sort of competence on a Day 1 as well we may yet see a competitive test match.
