Troops, where's the Dunkirk fighting spirit - I can see Root, Ali and Prior leading us to a brilliant victory with Anderson hitting the wiining runs to really rub it in to the Indians!

TRO Testeur dégoûtant
You ever heard of reality Q Mac...;-)
Morning everybody, welcome to Cook's last day of Captaincy.
Wonder who they'll give the gig to next test? Bell - form as shot as Cook's and no leader of men. Prior - on current form if they handed him the captaincy he'd drop it. Bold one for the future - Root?

I just like the man P23 W9 L9 D9 gives him a 22% losing record as Captain on par with Vaughan and Strauss. Atherton and Hussain were over 30% in double the tests and as for Stewart 53%! Didn't a certain MS Dhoni lose 8 on the bounce but now hailed as a hero for a drawn test and one which isn't over yet! AND - he's only lost 1 main series to Australia - take that away and he's only lost 2 tests in 18! C'mon Captain Cook, inspired team talk and a mighty victory to shut up the doubters. Cricket fans didn't used to be as fickle as football ones!

You forgot to say that he should hit the winning runs off Jadeja.

Well said Lord Fetch, well said - and he runs the second and is apparently run-out by Jadeja but the third umpire gives him in! Back to Cook - most successful ODI Captain ever! (33 wins) That's one statistic I bet no-one thought would be up there in his list of cricketing achievements.

Wriggling Snake
Cook was trying so hard last night, he deserves a break. However Root and Ali looked like getting out any mo, they did well to hang in there. The game was up at the end of day 1, should have bowled them out, and got them out cheaper second innings. I reckon they will go down by 100 runs....
Anyway Saw Gloucs V Essex yesterday T20, Gloucs won!! Amazing, they needed almost 13 an over 5 out, and got them, Dent hit a huge 6 right over my head in thelast over, I'd lost it and was ready to be brained :-)......it landed about 20 yards behind me, good job I don't play anymore, Id' be crap.

Moeen was the ultimate in calm during the final day loss against SL - if he can find more of that spirit, and a few solid partners, I can't see why this isn't possible*. None down at lunch would make for interesting sandwiches.
*I'm an eternal optimist.
