Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Nope. He's gone. Broken as player and captain, back to County game for the season. It's painful to watch, and I fear dragging the whole team down as well.

Honourable thing would be to fall on his sword, but suspect he'll cling on for the series.

One area we haven't got an abundance of talent is at opener ... cant see promotion giving Compton another go. Carberry hasn't got any form this season either ...

I don't see how Cook can continue much longer as captain on his form alone. never mind his actual captaincy. The question is before we throw him overboard, who is going to replace him? Prior might go with him shortly so he's ruled out.

yes, ca't see Cook Staying beyond this series really, shame because he is a great Batsmen, but not all great players make Captains. Botham, Willis, Gower (he seemed to be able to bat though). Boycott, he was shite as a Captain too.......

Ayway, just in general, PITCH IT UP, is all we had to do yesterday..... I fear we will coe up 100 short.

Prior is out of form to with gloves and the bat, and hislong-term place is unsure.....it only reallistically leaves Bell, who is also untried as a captain, and unreliable batting wise just now.........Broad, maybe, but nobody welse would get the balll

hmmmm

Blown it.

Only questions remain now is can the weather wrote most of tomorrow off and earn us an undeserved draw, and will we at least put up enough of a fight - with Cook among the runs - to save Cook's captaincy. An abject surrender and Cook gone cheaply and surely the gig is up and something has to be done now.
