I think Vaughan brought a whole new life to tms when he joined (like swann and cook have subsequently done), but may have done too much with Geoffrey....(although their politics do not resemble each others)
And to be fair he's statistically one of England's best ever captains.

Have to say that I think Isa is a fantastic addition to the commentary team. And Carlo braithwaite has been realygood in this
I'm not such a fan of ebony though it has to be said. That may be the ubersurryness.
And I was very sceptical of Dan Norcross but he has started to tone it down somewhat.
Charlie Dagnell though surpassed (low) expectations.
And Zaltzmann has been brilliant.
However it's been nice to hear the of voices, particularly Vic marks.

I think it's the best line-up they've ever had. Isa Guha is excellent. Andy Zaltzman has his long career as a comedian and as a radio presenter to draw from, so perhaps not surprising that he's wittier than previous scorers/statisticians. Dan Norcross obviously created and presented a successful alternative to TMS, which is an interesting career path to landing a job. Boycott had become a caricature, the programme is much improved without him.
(Not sure about your comment on Vaughan's politics. He's very much in the Boycott/ Botham mould - openly Conservative/ pro-Brexit, tweeted about us needing a Trump-style leader in Britain.)

Isa Guha sounds like a nickname handed out by Greppers.

It is a very good team currently, I still like Tuffers. Cook has been very good, but he would have been wouldn't he? I also agree it's been very good listening to Vic Marks, you have to have some old timers in there, I guess in the end that'll be Tuffers and Vaughan. I even like Simon Mann.
I have half an idea that when Aggers calls it a day, and I bet that isn't too far away, Cook will become the band leader.

Aggers is a really great broadcaster.
I only realised how good when he did the 2012 Olympics Archery updates for Radio 5. They obviously gave him that gig because the archery events were held at Lord’s.
Yet he’d clearly done his homework on the sport and competitors and was able to present what was going on and explain the scoring and other subtleties for the uninitiated. Masterclass.
Interesting to see how Cook develops as a TMSer. Think there’s more to his personality to come out.

I saw a talk by Henry Blofield recently when he said that Vic Marks was the best commentator he had ever worked with (in the sense of having the expertise to identify how a match was progressing and in particular being quick to identify a turning point).

I still enjoy Bumble more than all the rest put together. His Dean Headley story yesterday was very good (and new to me)

You’re absolutely spot on re Aggers. He is a brilliant broadcaster. I love Tuffers too. I hope they’ll both be around for decades to come. Cricket on the wireless is one of life’s real pleasures for sure
