Weather forecast for Tuesday makes it look like we're not guaranteed a full day's play on day 5.

I do despair sometimes - when England were struggling for openers, it was all talk about sticking out out.
Now we have openers who've already more hundred opening partnerships than in the previous 10 years (which puts into perspective how good cook was when his partner was getting out v early morenoften than not) and everyone whinges that they don't score fast enough!
Broad to 499 now btw. I wonder if all those chatting about dropping broad or Anderson for this test will still be making the same arguments against Pakistan...

All that fuss over the slow start looks a bit silly now. With a sound forecast for Tuesday, there was never any shortage of time. 98 overs on that day is a good session with the 2nd new ball, even if Monday is completely washed out.

Who was moaning about slow scoring? Even I wasn’t, loving our new openers and they’re doing great.
I think both have tried to move the game on at the right time, possibly at cost of even more runs. They just don’t quite have the array of shots yet, but it’s only a select few who can switch gears at will.
When we really absolutely had to move the game rapidly from the first over at the crease in game 2 we put Stokes and Buttler in first. Partial success, but a bold correct move.

The are far more posts on here when England are doing badly than when they have a good session
And when Essex play the Brown hatted filth

Essex always do badly. That's baked in.
Aggers, tuffers and some of the others on TMS kept saying, oh they need to get a move on.
No idea what sky were saying.

Ah the TMS lot. I was out cycling so missed the earlier part of the day when Dibble and Rory were batting.
When I was listening they concluded that the declaration today was about an over late....
Also amused by their endless ponderings in the last two tests about ‘batting big, batting once and enforcing the follow on’ vs ‘declare, with the probability of batting twice’. Both times the debate was completely nulled by loss of late order wickets removing the first option....

It’s mainly Vaughan who annoys me on TMS. He’s a bit too much of an ego for my liking. The others are generally good to listen to.
