What's the most dangerous animal native-ish to the UK that you might encounter on a run? I think angry geese are the most dangerous for me, if there's goslings involved (although the two today gave me a cock-eyed look, clearly expecting bread) There was also a ninja duck today - just a trail of small bubbles, and then suddenly, a duck. She let me live, though... |

Yes this fine fellow was giving me the side-eye while ostentatiously pissing in the middle of the path. I gave him a wide berth. There are usually cattle on the local hills, sometimes a bull and/or calves. They are rarely troublesome to me but people with dogs may feel differently! |

All but the Belties are still inside here. Generally give them a decent berth but never had to re-route due to cows. Usually refer to bulls as Mr Big Bollocks. Most dangerous animal? We got dive bombed by curlew in early summer following the first lock down. The lack of people on the moor meant they had nested closer to the path than usual and got very cross when we passed through. |

Angry geese near goslings, absolutely! Had to do a u-turn when a young goose family was occupying the towpath. One of the parents flew right at me and if I had stopped running, I was a goner!

Lots of cows here ... plus plenty free grazing in the NF - where there's a mix of day trippers (out & back to their barn each night) or wild campers, left out for weeks or months at a time. May have to steal the idea for a few blogs! Most dangerous? Well, any when I'm looking at them or for them instead of the ground ... Currently I'd rate pheasants as 'dangerous' .. sitting hidden until I'm about 5ft away then flying up squawking loudly. |

The geese have suddenly become angry today, monday they weren't, rise in temperature I think. Very few cows near us, but I shall keep a look out just in case, sheep, more than you can shake a stick at.

Cows appear on various routes at random but the creature that worries me the most - either over friendly horses that think I’m carrying treats or the buzzard in nesting season. Agree about the stupid pheasents though, especially when they fly up and then towards me rather than away. |

We have Highlands just down the road from us but the path goes around their paddock not through it. It's also the parkrun route and a lot of people say it's a highlight of the parkrun to see the cows. Here's a link to one of the pictures facebook.com
