nice! around here they are mostly still indoors and with the very wet weather likely to remain there for a wee while yet. there is a small herd of dairy longhorns nearby who stay out all winter, and some belted galloways a couple of miles away that are usually out and about in all weathers.

Yep - one of our regular routes involves a lot of cow-scouting before committing (and a hasty U-turn if they're ninja-ing on us down the hill)...

Deer during the Richmond Park Marathon, wild ponies during the New Forest Marathon and swans during the Thames Meander Marathon.
When training, nothing more than dogs, ducks, rabbits and pheasants. Not a cow in sight.
