The roads seem incredibly busy, I wonder if a new lockdown would severely curtail private car use again? I recall people being fined for going to see the sea and drones over the Peak District.

Going back to the fertility thing, as far as I can tell the issue is a very slight similarity between the spike protein and a placental adhesion protein (probably not enough to have a problem). Most of the conspiracy theorists seem to forget that the virus also contains the spike protein and will create antibodies, so getting infected is likely to be just as bad, if not worse, if it damages any organs at the same time, for fertility. I think there has been a slightly higher still birth rate with the virus, but that may be because of fewer checks or women being less keen to go to the hospital for checks than an actual issue. I haven't heard anything about how it could possibly affect male fertility. |

Surely can't be long before England has to follow Scotland now? I know Wales had a "full lockdown" without England following suit, but at the time the English numbers were relatively low. As far as I can recall, Scotland has got it's measures in first before England in just about every case, and then England has more or less followed suit.

Full lockdown pretty much as per March and April for us in Scotland. To be honest for us we have changed very little anyway so it’s not a big deal. We did go to restaurants a few times when allowed and had a few outdoor gatherings. I don’t really want to open this can of worms but I did find myself wondering what JR would Be making of the way things have turned out. |

I really don't see the logic of Johnson saying there will need to be more restrictions "soon" - if they're needed, get on with them!

Does anyone know if a press conference has been announced for Boris today? I'm trying to decide what to do about my son and school. He is 10, has viral induced asthma, the school is currently saying it will open tomorrow but the mayor has said that he won't find people who don't attend. And the Mayor is asking Boris to close primary schools in this area. We are tier 4. I don't know what to do. |
