It's a complete and utter mess. Unfortunately the government have put far to much emphasis on the general public having common sense. A 2 week break over half term would have been far preferable for everyone than 4 weeks now...surely? |

Back in the days when you couldn’t get a test unless you were in hospital, I isolated myself in my room for 7 days straight (the guideline at the time) due to a fever. Meals were brought to the closed door, husband slept downstairs, I didn’t see the rest of the family in the house at all.

I guess that they're just following the other countries now, hoping to not having the hospitals snowed under. I think a few more things will be able to keep going this time though. I went out for a proper meal this week for the first time, no more planned fortunately, and also had my hair cut yesterday. |

There's definitely an element of confusion and/or miscommunication judging by the level of daily queries we're taking in our Env Health dept on a daily basis. There's currently around a dozen or so "Can I ..?", "Am I allowed to ..?, "What is a bubble?" type of questions coming in from both business and the general public. Many of these questions appear to be from people who appear to be engaged, prepared to ask the question and for a change (considering the typical level of intelliegence of the public we tend to deal with ... ) from individuals who appear to have a couple of brain cells to rub together. It doesn't reflect well on the understanding of the other 99.9% of the public who will be interpreting the same rules as they see fit. |

Wonder if Scotland will follow England into nationwide lockdown, given that we've a much trumpeted new set of levels and guidelines due to start on Monday? If 'yes', it would be a real 'kick in the teeth' for many individuals and businesses, especially in areas where infections fairly low. |

Bazoake In Edinburgh, I usually meet people in a wee French cafe not too far from Haymarket. It is usually pretty much dead just now. So, brief interaction with the owner (a wild runner) is all the risk that there is. Tim |

I suspect that if the pubs, cafes and restaurants are closed, a large minority of people, particularly those not living with families, will simply and quietly move their socialising indoors. I mentioned earlier that single acquaintances are taking their Tinder dating indoors in Tier 3, I can’t see them stopping for a stricter lockdown.
