Yeah I keep eye on BBC and radio news alerts to any big stuff. Still worry I miss something else though.

We have had a couple of outbreaks at work in different sites. Been open since easter with no cases so definitely a sign it’s on the rise and maybe less care being taken.

In none covid news sad about the presumably terrorist attacking in Nice.

the warehouse has 300 people a day in (drivers etc) and since March had 1 confirmed case

There is max 4 at a time in our bit and only had that open since end Sept and already had a case from someone WFH then going in

So it's the socialising that's done it for him

He's not changed from what I can gather and has been out drinking (too much) hugging and going abroad

Doesn't surprise me at all he has it

The numbers in Lanarkshire do look bad but the levels (not tiers in Scotland) are being announced later today do it’s not agreed yet. I believe Lanarkshire council are trying to resist level 4.

I have been pondering on the spread of Covid and read 100k infections daily which seems quite a lot. My experience is that people are not really out and about or in situations where there is a big risk. However I must be wrong on that.

As some scientist said earlier

Either people need to follow the rules better or we need tighter restrictions

and going back to yesterday if we want to be seeing people at Christmas then something needs to happen soon

Unfortunately I can't see people changing

At my place of work we've encountered about 70 positive cases. All but a couple have been 100% certain transmitted away from the workplace in social settings as we've only had 2 scenarious which could otherwise be classed as an "outbreak" (i.e. where multiple individuals in the same team etc contract it simultaneously).

None of the cases have resulted in anything other than short term mild illnesses, which is good.

But (many) people are blase about it and aren't living the "hands-face-space" lives that they are supposed to. Unless they are compelled to keep away from each other through a lockdown, nothing is going to stop the continued spread and rise (IMHO).

agree larkim which means if we end up needing another lockdown like France and Germany have done then people will be complaining and jobs lost etc

it feels like a no win situation just now

Less lockdown, more compliance. How do we get that message across? Public role models, mentorship, advertising campaigns, draconian measures and fines, cattle prods and tasers?!

Thoughts? :-) G

Our company has excellent measures in place people are placed into small bubbles with own breakout areas. Only communal areas is toilets but people are asked to clean down on leaving. So this is a small bubble of 8 people but a few have tested positive they are all offsite and they’ll deep clean area as they are negative they can return so very contained.

The other site again one person tested positive over weekend so they’ve informed the team and those working that shift are at home pending negative tests. The area deep cleaned and also getting regular cleans to keep everyone safe. We’ve done well. The other cases have been people WFH.

Enforcement of rules! Blatantly flaunting rules and no consequence means people keep doing it.

Saying it’s ok have Halloween go trick or treating says (to me) it’s safe to do so, so safe on Saturday why not Friday or Sunday?

No excuse for not wearing a mask without doctors letter. For the time period we have to wear a mask I really don’t see the problem.

Encourage back to one person one trolley in supermarkets - it’s like a bliddy family day out now with people all over the place.

Supermarkets were cleaning trolleys /baskets but not now. I still take my own wipes which I also used when they were cleaned but I see people collect a trolley and walk in not even sanitising. So touching things that you know aren’t clean and not been worried says you’ve not taken your necessary precautions.

Last thing I do leaving house is wash my ha da, I sanitise as I leave the car & at the shop. First thing I do coming in is empty bags and then wash my hands. I don’t wash items in packaging only if it’s something I’d eat without prior prep.

I still disinfect all touch points in the house every day despite it only being us 2 in the house again it’s good practice & normal now.
