Colleague and friend of mine had long covid for 9 months and he's only just clear - he was given asthma medication (steroid or other anti inflammation tablets for lungs?) and that cleared it up in days?! Just FYI for anyone who it might help. I guess the treatments are still being developed and experimented. :-) G

Was given inhalers and many meds .
Hoping I can soon get weaned off them. Have a GP appointment on Monday but not sure if tomorrow’s results will be back in time.

Hope all COVID sufferers are keeping okay. I tested positive for the first time (that I'm aware of) just after Xmas. After about a week of up-and-down temperature and energy, I'm starting to feel a bit more consistent now. As a lifelong mild asthmatic, I've been fortunate to not have any significant respiratory symptoms from it. The worst of it has been a bit of a sore throat at points over the week. Hopefully there isn't any medium or long term lingering issues from it.

ScotGov's advice interesting. Not seen it before. Will bear it in mind if I have symptoms (of anything) and am somewhere with others.

Looks like Froome's VO2 max level fell off about 15% after he had Covid:

As well as other "strange" heart problems. He emphasises that it's not like the flu, as is often used as comparison.

I'm obviously no Chris Froome (no, really!), but I can confirm that I also has a massive VO2max† dip after Covid (nearly 3 years later and I'm still not recovered).

†Mine was estimated by Garmin - I assume Froome's has been measured by actual professionals.

I had flu, not Covid, with several days of bed bound and high fever and a terrible cough. Three weeks later the cough and associated shortness of breath remains... This has never happened before. One does wonder... I know I am part of a large group of people with tenacious coughs, colds, flu...

Obviously, we have not been exposed to much the last few years so no immunity but these viruses doing the rounds seem to be worse and more tenacious than pre-covid "stuff".

[I have the same, Hann. Initial fever subsided quite quickly (3/4 days), but I still have a very chesty cough at day 10. Running is out of the question 😢]
