If they sorted out filtration and ventilation standards that could be enforced by HSE, we wouldn't need masks. For now I'll stick with my FFP3 whenever I feel the need.

Only couple of places still asking in UK that I've experienced is doctor / hospital and also physio, so all NHS related. I am happy to comply. If a doctor asked me to wash my hands or wear short sleeves, I would comply. These guys stick their fingers in you and down your throat etc. Least I can do is wear what they ask me to wear. Can I just say woop woop for all wonderful NHS workers. G |

Well, the bit where the really important people bray like donkeys at each other anyway: purifiedair.com Everyone else can pay for their own |

Our dentist has always been on it when it comes to precautions. He seems to have added filtration to the arsenal now as well. Very impressed. The local NHS hospital was providing surgical masks for outpatients (audiology etc), so I always wear my FFP3 instead. With bird flu crossing into other species, I'm thinking of getting filtration for the house/office. You can buy them or make a Corsi-Rosenthal box, search on twitter for #CorsiRosenthalBox |

I have air filters set to run at certain times (off smart plugs) where I think air quality is not great, either due to high levels of dust etc, or someone is sick in the house. The Davos summit recently had plenty of air filtering in place, masks worn in busier areas apparently. Quite a lot of schools made CR boxes as design & technology type projects, the kind of thing that a forward thinking government might have jumped on as an opportunity, vastly better value than giving overpriced Dyson machines that remove formaldehyde from the air at a rate of one for every three schools or whatever it was. |

My daughter has a variety of medical appointments at quite a few hospitals. Each one has signs up and letters stating that masks must be worn. Yet when you get there, the majority of patients and visitors can't be bothered to wear them. The same with our dentists. A lot of the admin staff aren't wearing masks and even some doctors! My wife and I wear ours simply because that it what we have been asked to do yet it seems so hypocritical. In 2021, towards the end of the pandemic, we went to a chippie on holiday who had signs up insisting on masks yet not one of the five people behind the counter and in the kitchen had one on. |
