I'm going to a gig for the first time in years tomorrow. We are intending to wear masks, but I was wondering how many other people would. I was pleased to see the band themselves tweet to ask people to test and wear a mask.

Interesting - logged a LFT today and now it's 'upload a photo of your lft and we'll tell you the result' (they claim that the software is more likely to be able to see a faint line which we may not spot ourselves). Wonder if it's because I qualify for anitvirals or not (it was negative but as I've had a runny nose [and fatigue, stiffness, aches] wanted to check it wasn't covid)

run free
I had flu for the first time in a decade in September. I tested negative for Covid but I was very weak and had problems standing whilst wfh. My mother who was living with me also caught my flu and tested negative. However at the first sign she gargled with salt water and took cold meds. She recovered quickly where as I took 10 days to get the phlegm and coughing to stop. So maybe had flu or maybe had Covid. We both tested negative

um
I'd say 'better immunity' run free. (a) there's multiple flu variants, so one may not fully protext against another and (b) immunity & in-body protection levels are different in different people.

And it's 'nature', so no absolute certainty, always a statistical game.

I can understand the logic behind raspberries but I wouldn't call broccoli ready to eat as I cook mine (I'm aware it can be eaten raw)...

Incoming, 🙈, apparently because Chinese tourists are desperate to go skiing in Europe - take care out there folks.

Out of 212 tests carried out on travelers arriving directly from China at Milan’s Malpensa Airport on December 26, a whopping 97 were positive.

The U.S. and Italy are introducing mandatory coronavirus testing for travelers arriving from China, which has just lifted its longstanding travel quarantine rules and where cases of the virus are surging, sparking concern about potential new variants. Japan, India, Malaysia and Taiwan have also introduced travel restrictions, while the EU’s Health Security Committee will meet today in an urgent bid to get all member countries on the same page. officials from the Department for Transport, Home Office and Department for Health and Social Care are expected to assess today what the U.K. should do.

I'm planning on taking my PPF3 masks with me when I go skiing next month, who knows what restrictions may be brought in while I'm away.

That sounds all a bit ominous Macca!
Are they about to spread it around the world again via Italy??? 😱
