A lot of people are unable to deal with others who hold different views (whether it be about Trump, Brexit, Covid, religion, Scot Indy, whatever).

I admire and respect what Tom did. He appeared to be a good role model as someone who, despite his advanced age, did something positive and raised a lot of money for good causes. But I don't agree with the clapping, statues and general hero worship. If my 95yo neighbour (recently deceased, who I liked very much and was generally speaking a good and kind man) is anything to go by, taking into account the fact that Tom served as an officer in the army in Burma, I would guess that some of his views on race, social equality, women etc. were not exactly progressive. Of course we won't hear about any of that until after the statue is up in Trafalgar Square and any dissenters will be badged as looney lefties.

I don't believe that anybody deserves a statue, they are bound to become divisive. Let's just say if we put one of Tony Blair up next to Margaret Thatcher.

Going back to the graph I posted, the one bit I thought was odd was the hump for women of child-bearing age.

Does that mean there are more pregnant women getting covid badly enough to need hospitalisation? Presumably the threshold blood oxygenation level is slightly higher for them.
Are women in that demographic doing jobs, like working in care homes, that put them at increased risk, despite other data to the contrary on which occupations are most at risk?

I might have to go back and see if they actually explained in more detail in the briefing.

Not sure if it has been posted before, but I hadn't see this risk calculator previously.

larkim - yes, that's been used for some time. There was talk of using it to determine vaccination order, but I think that will be put in the too difficult box. BMI obviously a massive determinant in hospitalisation and deaths, and I'm not sure the NHS will have a complete enough picture with regards data.

Saying that, first time I've put my own figures in:

COVID associated death 0.0008% 1 in 125000
COVID associated hospital admission 0.0213% 1 in 4695

I just need to move out of London to halve my risk.
