Shortcut Cam
Yeah, cycling on water but the energy expenditure v distance has to be worth 4 points as Chris suggests 😜

57.5 Degrees of Pain
I only log running, downhill skiing and cycling, but do include hills where I'm in my running gear even if there is plenty of walking on the uphills. My skiing is sufficiently dependent on strength rather than skill to be an excellent workout.

Did log one pedalo ride too, but only as biking. That was a lot of effort for not much speed!

Nasty move p_m_j ...
Santa pops out for one night and you go and nick his zone. Almost as though you knew he'd be out last night, all the guarding reindeer away, and the elves exhausted and asleep.
Give Santa his zone back !

;-)

um, I see your point, but I didn't steal it from Santa, it was owned by Dibble and he stole it from Santa.

I think I had control of it this time last December, due to a couple of orienteering events in the forest nearby, but it's been a year since I went that way.

Approaching the end of the year, I ought to be working out how many contiguous zones I have, but my laptop is broken, and with it the database that does this calculation for me.

I don't even know how many zones I've gained this year, however with 4947 I'm pretty confident of hitting 5000 before next year is very old. I've not counted any zones I've only cycled in.

ChrisHB, what sort of database is that? I often wonder about the conquersise database as I have a load of squares close by home and wonder what the unexplored squares next to them hold. As an example, I see squares where I am 3 and 4 behind the leader, so 2 visits would gain me one more owned but if there are empty squares beyond hem then I could capture then in one visit. I know I can clcik but it is hard to work out and plan that way so I'd like a map that shows exactly how far behind the leader I am in any area of squares so a database and google maps API and I'm there.

I have an oracle database but any will do. If you can do sql and can take two lines of text and change them into a single line I can tell you how I do it. The starting point is select all, cut and paste the page containi g the map into Notepad, edit out the bits you don't want.

Another source which would be far better if you understand oracle's xml database would be to use the .kml file that fetch produces.

I wouldn't be able to help until I have a new laptop.

I would be surprised if excel will do the trick but there is a fetch thread to help with excel!
