Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Nice. I am finding "the older the fiddle, the sweeter the tune" particularly appealing.
I've just outsourced shopping for my little niece and slightly bigger great-niece. Phew. I am short on insights into the mind of the seven year old girl.

I’m on a train back to the seaside. Raffo apologised in advance for the lack of any sort of Christmas decorations.

‘Do you think I give a fuck?’ I said fondly.

I am Christmas neutral. Nice if it happens, not bothered if it doesn’t.

I also like 'from the teeth out' meaning insincere. And 'he turned up with his both arms the same length' meaning empty-handed

Our 4ft artificial tree and ornaments (no lights) came from ASDA 10(?) years ago for a grand total of £10 and is still going strong. I expect we'll still have it 20+ years from now, although we may get a larger one to go with it.
