I'm no sprout lover (will tolerate them for Christmas but wouldn't go out of my way to eat them) and several people have told me that bacon/pancetta is the answer. We'll see!

Early favourite is a nut roast roasted inside a butternut squash. Sprouts: shred them very finely, sweat off some crushed garlic then add the shredded sprouts until softened and slightly caramelising. Salt, pepper, knob of (in our case Vegan) butter. Mrs TRO hates sprouts but eats this 'because it's doesn't taste like sprouts'. Also works well with savoy cabbage.

Turkey on the other hand I can live without, but for me it's one of those strange things that people feel they have to eat because it's Christmas. I'm a sucker for tradition!
