I am going to test that theory this year, just which or how many herbs does it take?

I dunno. She's been dead since 1996 :) but I think any, and a small amount :)

The other advantage of getting someone else to cook is that I get sprouts with bacon and he gets them without. I'm no sprout lover (will tolerate them for Christmas but wouldn't go out of my way to eat them) and several people have told me that bacon/pancetta is the answer. We'll see!

Still undecided, but will be vegan for the two of us.

Vegan Xmas pud is made.

Early favourite is a nut roast roasted inside a butternut squash.

Sprouts: shred them very finely, sweat off some crushed garlic then add the shredded sprouts until softened and slightly caramelising. Salt, pepper, knob of (in our case Vegan) butter. Mrs TRO hates sprouts but eats this 'because it's doesn't taste like sprouts'. Also works well with savoy cabbage.

i love sprouts, but i dont get why people have them when they dont like them, or dress them up to make them tolerable (in their opinion)

I agree Doc - it's one of those strange things that people feel they have to eat/do 'because it's xmas'.

I just love sprouts anyway. Every day of the year, more sprouts please! Turkey on the other hand I can live without, but for me it's one of those strange things that people feel they have to eat because it's Christmas. I'm a sucker for tradition!
