Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Another surprising example of an accomplished athlete cheating. Don't know what to think of this, I follow Kate on Instagram and she's clearly an accomplished runner with legitimate results in the past, I don't know what it is that brings people to cheat. Maybe a loss of form and not wanting to lose face? Pretty sad that people go to such lengths if so. The evidence is fairly damning.

Saw this yesterday and was quite surprised too.

Though I'm sure RW once did a feature about cheating at parkrun so maybe she got some tips from there!

I was just surprised that she was editor of Runner's World. I'd forgotten all about her since she disappeared from The Guardian.

(When I saw the thread on Letsrun I thought it was going to be about Northern Exile's favourite red haired feature writer.)

Kate sometimes appears as a presenter on The Running Channel. I'd be really surprised if what she has said is disproved.

Bizarre the lengths people go to to fabricate completely nondescript performances of no significance whatsoever, especially when their credibility actually matters for their career.

Ha. Yes, I will never forgive that foul female. Oddly enough she contacted me last year with a nonsensical question about the FGR, needless to say she got a very straightforward reply.

Wouldn't obscuring your bib be an automatic dq?

I once got DQ'd for folding my bib to make it small enough to fit on the front of my vest even though the actual number was fully visible.

Yes I came to see if anyone had commented on this. It seems very odd that she would cheat and ruin her career!

But then the same could be said for Josia. Very strange decision-making.
