Most of our cats liked paper. One particularly, Murphy, used to just dive into a newspaper if I was reading it on the floor. And given his size, there was no way to get the paper back, or even read around him.
I used to get The Observer, so I'd make sure I had the sections separated, so I could just move onto another one.

Not sure yet about the new ones, but 'Nny was reasonably keen on paper.
He preferred a good bag, though. Any kind of bag, but plastic or nylon were were definitely the best.
