Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Has anything been published yet about changes to buses, road closures etc? I’ve not managed to find anything. I’m thinking of going for the day to spectate.

Apart from the start times for the BM10k and Marathon, very little has been divulged. Runners are expecting to have received their race packs by Monday and the event guide is being e-mailed on Saturday. Still no Park & Ride information either which is annoying a lot of people.

Hopefully, the guide will include road closures and be uploaded on the website. If not, we can try and get you a copy if feasible, FDNB.

It’s ok, I don’t have to plan that much in advance but I do feel for the runners who aren’t able to finalise their travel plans yet.

And it must also be frustrating for any locals who have non-marathon things to do that day!

Fragile - Brighton buses (buses.co.uk) timetables for 2 April shows the times they are (aren't) running but I haven't seen a published list.

For road closures, assume anything on the race routes will be closed from early (6 or 7 am) and will gradually re-open through the day as the tail leaves the sections. I don't expect there will be much of use running to get you into town until at least late morning.

If you have any specific questions please ask (I live in Brighton and have regularly volunteered on marathon so know most of how to get anywhere - brief summary; expect to walk!).

Locals with non marathon things to do know not to do them in town unless it's walking distance.

The lack of info is worrying at this stage.

Usually if I have a day trip to Brighton I park in the Withdean park and ride and get a bus from the nearby stop in London Road (as the ones that go to the P&R literally go all round the houses).

Walking isn’t a problem and we would have no particular time we want to get there but I have no idea where to park apart from at Withdean 😅

The buses from Withdean park (Tongdean Lane), 5, 5A don't start 'til midday on 2 April. buses.co.uk

27, park and ride from 8
buses.co.uk
From Withdean you're next to the course all the way to town so probably preferable to walk and spectate then get the bus back afterwards.

Park and ride details emailed Wed 22nd and first come first served for those that need it. Will see some frantic people arriving late and parking in desperation I think.

I’ve at in-laws in Hove so the Hove Lawns finish is superb for me :)

Given I entered this in 2019, I couldn’t remember my predicted time but clearly I went optimistic as I’m in blue…
