Someone asked an hour ago on facebook when the route will be released...no reply yet. There's a big project to change the roundabout by the pier, due to start soon and be completed in 2024. Might turn marathon into a steeple chase ![]() |

I noticed that there was no permit application. But they haven't done the permit for London either yet. I'm sure they won't forget.

A course map is a requirement for a race licence. I guess that, once we have an uploaded map on the website, everything else will follow.

And 10k route. Start as well as finish moved to Hove Lawns. brightonmarathonweekend.co.uk I'd guess that (if you're running fast enough that it matters!) the marathon route is slower than the old one, more U turns. |

My first impressions are that it isn't brilliant. Lots of deviations and the inclines are still there. However, given the financial issues along with roadworks in the western part of the course, we'll take it. I seriously hope that this is just a one-off and that the new organisers will seek to improve the course by making it quicker and less lumpy. I am surprised by the 10k start being moved. At least the toilet queues in Preston Park will be better! Personally, I would have u-turned the 10k at the Aquarium Roundabout and taken the runners further west. This would have made the 10k faster by eliminating St James Street. It would also have stopped the elite marathon runners from catching up with the 10k walkers. |

Toilets depend if they reduce the number at start because the 10k runners won't be there! Meanwhile, website is still down, I know London have had to pick it up at relatively short notice but with website, the number of people on FB and Twitter asking questions that don't get answered, volunteers still waiting for replies it's a bit worrying. In December I was pleased that London had taken it on but my confidence is falling ![]() |

Alcohol free beer at the end from the email. I’d rather they fixed the website but a boring beer to follow up a marathon is… well. Something ![]() |

Lucky Saint appears to have replaced Erdinger. They have revamped the website but a lot of information and archive material such as results, galleries, press releases are missing. I expect that they are inundated with e-mails and questions so I don't reckon it will be up and running properly for a while. Still no information with regards to the Park & Ride, start area map and early bird entries for 2024 (if anyone hasn't yet lost the will after the last few months). |
