@SSteve, the yoga session offered as part of the Seminar Series, although I don't recall a yoga session prior to this year. I usually select one or two of the events in the series, and have attended some quite interesting, informative, and inspiring sessions. Here is the URL for this year's schedule: baa.org

Thanks for the heads up. Frank. I’ll probably be at the expo on the Saturday too so I’ll make a call based on the size of the crowds. |

Guys, back on the bags question: is there *no bag drop* at all? Can you leave a bag at the finish (for stuff to change into?) i.e. before you get on the bus? Is it just once you're on the bus that there's no more bag drop? I might have to ironically *buy* a sweatshirt or something (and will do the usual bin liner with arm holes!) Fingers crossed for decent weather! G |

It appears that you've found your answer, Happy. Just in case there remains a question, "On race morning, participants may check their plastic finish area gear bag at a designated gear check area on Boylston Street. No gear check bags will be allowed on the B.A.A. shuttle buses to Hopkinton. There is no gear check in Hopkinton."

A key activity one evening this week then will be looking out some stylish (!) discardable clothing for race morning, pre-start! I don't care if it's as cold as last year, I'm running in vest and shorts only! It's only 3 hours, and as long as you are running and generating heat, you can *not* get hypothermia in 3.5 hours! G |

I’m afraid if it’s cold enough you can Happy! Just like in cold water, your arms and legs act like radiators, taking the warm blood away from your core faster than your heart can pump it. Hypothermia and death can be the result. Vest and Union Jack shorts for me too though! |

Other than Yuki last year (who is quite clearly bonkers) even the elites wore multiple layers and rain jackets

Last year the field clearly split into two groups. Most of the Americans wore multiple layers including a few I saw even wearing bin bags till the lats few miles. A smaller number (mostly overseas) went for the shorts and vest look. I went with this option although did buy some arm warmers the day before ! My main problem last year was they lost my bag so was frozen at end and had to come back later when they found it. |

Errr, but not in 3.5 hours Steve. I agree that if you are not running it can come that quickly. Hence why I always carry blanket, extra layers etc. in the hills when training. But on a course, if you are running you will be cold but not hypothermic. If you do have an incident, there will also be medical people all around. I've done UK races up to a couple hours in -5C or lower and maybe put on a pair of gloves or a buff but nothing more. Hmmm. Will need to think about it. Thanks guys. G |
