Oh, good reminder, need to buy gels. And find my gel belt! And try out my race day shoes again (think they give me a blister, so I hardly ever train in them. I just tape up the blister spot for race day.) G

Seems we're all ready to go; It's down to the taper now. The hay is in the barn. Thanks for the link to Tracksmith, SS. I shall be stopping in to have a look-around. I like the look of their apparel, although the prices are steep.

You’re not wrong Frank. Seems like nobody ever ran the Boston marathon to save money.

I try. I usually shared a room with four or five runners (four this year), I buy groceries and made food in the room, grab as many freebies as possible at the Expo (including food and drinks), and generally play the old miser on holiday. When I have to eat out, I prefer noodle shops over the pricey restaurants. But maybe this year, I'll consider buying a special piece of Boston apparel. This is likely to be my last one.

It's so expensive, even to enter, compared to UK marathons. 4-5 x the price?
I thought USA used to be cheap for jeans, electronic items etc. We always think of it as $ for £ same prices e.g. a £100 item in UK will cost $100 in USA, so seem much cheaper to us?
And I couldn't believe accommodation prices - 3 nights in an airport hotel is costing us a fortune. And car rental was more than in Europe. We're lucky that we're staying with friends for rest of our holiday because otherwise it would be even more expensive.
Really looking forward to it. Did an extra 20 miler yesterday by mistake. So plenty of long runs if not very much total mileage and no speed at all really! G

Has anyone else received the Participant Guide? Mine arrived today, but I live in the states. I assume they send those going to addresses outside of the USA are sent a bit earlier to ensure they arrive in time.

Last thing we got by post was the wee A5 flyer thing. Which I have lost and therefore hope I don't need! I'm hoping the electronic digital pass thing is all we strictly need. G

Nothing here either but, like HappyG, I am relying on the digital pass being all I really need. Apparently most of the info in the participant's guide is already on the BAA website.

Oh, and some running shoes. Acutally, I can buy them in USA too. Passport, credit card and Boston Athletic Association email. Everything else is purchasable! G
