Greppers' seat is by far the best in the shop.
I'm not liking that view right now, though.

Needs more customers!

No. My job is to sit in my seat and make the place look populous. I'm quite good at it.

I'm hoping at some point to discover Grepperchairâ„¢ branded onto the back (it's wooden).

The Scribbler
I know a few of us were reading The Tenant of Wildfell Hall on the side. I read Ann Bronte's other novel Agnes Grey immediately beforehand and the contrast between them is startling. Tenant is much more robust and challenging and I can see how it would be disturbing to some of its audience at the time.
It's worthy of a longer post if I can get my mind to it. Pondering which should be my next Bronte novel. Has to be a Charlotte, as I'm saving Wuthering Heights until last.

I have Wuthering Heights lined up for a couple of months time, and TenantOWH for 2018...

I just finished Italo Calvino's "Invisible Cities" which was mind-bogglingly good - a "no quibble 10/10'er" if ever there was one!

I'm now reading my first Hemingway "For Whom The Bell Tolls" which is also impressingly me greatly...

Oh good I'm glad you enjoyed invisible cities Daz i am almost certain I've read it before but it's worth a reread. I remember enjoying villette which simultaneously remembering nothing about it. Jane eyre is the only one of the bronzes I've reread with any regularity
